Haji Mohammad Habib ur Rehman the new Inspector General of Police Punjab has assumed the charge of his office today.
The new IGP joined the police service in 1977 as ASP. He served as SDPO in District Raheem Yar Khan, Toba Tek Singh and Pakpattan. After being promoted as SP in 1983 Haji Mohammad Habib ur Rehman served in Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal, Raheem Yar Khan and Traffic Highway Faisalabad. In 1993 he was promoted as SSP and performed his duties in Lahore and Rawalpindi. Haji Mohammad Habib ur Rehman was appointed as CCPO Lahore in 2009. Before his induction as Inspector General of Police Punjab Haji Mohammad Habib ur Rehman was serving in Punjab Constabulary as Additional IG. During the service he also attended various training courses.
The 48th Inspector General of Police Punjab Haji Mohammad Habib ur Rehman was born in Sialkot in 1953. He got his primary education from Sialkot and Faisalabad and after getting his masters degree in Economics he deiced to join the Punjab Police Department. The New IGP is considered to be one of the most devoted, dutiful and professional officer of the police service.
