    Inspector General Police Punjab, Tariq Saleem Dogar has directed District Police Officers to take measures on war-footing for the maintenance of public peace and curbing heinous crimes. Along with organized police patrolling, steps should also be taken for “Thekry Pehra”, he added.

    He was addressing police officers of Sargodha region today. Regional Police Officer Javed Islam and all district police officers of the region were present on the occasion. RPO gave a detailed briefing to IG regarding measures taken for maintenance of law and order and checking terrorism and crimes in Sargodha region.

    Addressing the meeting, IG Punjab directed district police officers to ensure immediate investigation of heinous cases and the arrest of criminals involved as well as recovery of looted property from them. He said that challans free of legal lacunae should be presented in the concerned courts for awarding deterrent punishment to the culprits so that rate of crimes could be reduced and sense of security be created among the people. He further directed that solid security measures be taken on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha and Mohrram-ul-Haram and for this purpose close contact should be made with all the sections of the society especially lawyers, Uleama and traders. He said that regular meetings should be held with peace and Mohalla committees besides special attention be paid to the protection of mosques, Imam Bargahs and Minorities worship places and consultation and practical cooperation of concerned administration should be sought in this regard. IG further directed that along with elimination of car and motor cycle theft in urban areas, measures should also be made for checking the incidents of cattle theft in rural areas. He directed that besides ensuring the arrest of dangerous proclaimed offenders, vigilant eye should be kept on the activities of suspicious persons and in this regard a strategy based on neighborhood watch under the community policing should be adopted.

    Thana culture to be changed, says Punjab CM

    RAWALPINDI: Thana Culture will be changed in true sense as the poor would get justice at police stations and courts and their voice would be heard without giving any bribe or recommendation letters from the higher ups, said Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday.

    He was addressing the passing out ceremony of probationer police officials including sub inspectors, assistant sub inspectors and head constables at Police Training College Sihala.

    The CM asserted that at present Pakistan is standing at a very important point. Country is facing threat of terrorism and menace of corruption. He further signified that police has pivotal role to play in the fight against terrorism. The terrorists target army, rangers and police in particular and public in general. He further added that to meet the challenges of future, the provincial government is utilizing all the resources to well-equip the police force as maintaining law and order is the top priority of his government. CM signified that the batch, which has completed training at PTC Sihala, was inducted purely on the basis of merit through Public Service Commission. They are also trained on scientific grounds the expectations from them are also high, as they have to prove their worth by becoming the first raindrop in the process of bringing change in the system. He also added that Pakistanis have to find out root causes of terrorism that are poverty, injustice, corruption, nepotism and disparity in the society. If we could change the rotten system, we could have control over terrorism and extremism, he added.

    Two DSPs suspended

    Inspector General of Police Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar has ordered the immediate suspension of DSP / SDPO Batala Colony Muhammad Akmal and DSP Admn & Security Mukhtar Hussain Shah on account of indulging in misconduct and inefficiency.

    In an order issued from Central Police Office here today, both the DSPs have been closed to Police Headquarters, Punjab.

    LAHORE
    INSPECTOR General of Police, Punjab, Tariq Saleem Dogar following public complaints immediately summoned the Civil Lines SP, Mujahid Squad SP and DSP and SHO of Gulshan Ravi to his open court and ordered them to hold departmental inquiry against eight police officials, including an SP, on charges of corruption and abuse of power.

    He issued these orders during an open court held at CPO on Monday. The IG listened to the complaints of citizens against police department and ordered the police officers concerned to ensure their quick redress 

     A complaint, Shabbir Ahmad, alleged that Multan SP Karamat Ullah and SHO Rana Zaheer Babar had registered fake cases against him in connivance with his opponents. The IG ordered the CPO, Multan, to hold an inquiry in this connection and submit him a report immediately. A woman from Lahore alleged that staff of PS Bhatti was not arresting Inspector Sardar against whom she had registered a case. 

    The IG asked the CCPO, Lahore, to hold a department enquiry against the said police officials. A citizen, Umair Ashraf, levelled allegations against SHO Muhammad Asif and ASI Muhammad Afzal of Sargodha Cantt police station of favouring accused party. The IG ordered department enquires against the police officers.

    Naveed Muhammad, a resident of Faisalabad, alleged that SHO Muhammad Akram, Ghulamabad police station, registered fake cases against him. The IG ordered the CPO, Faisalabad, to submit him a report after conducting an inquiry.

    A resident of Lahore, Sohail Nasir, levelled charges against ASI Riaz of protecting the accused by not recovering stolen goods from them. A citizen, Abdul Hameed, alleged that City Raiwind police station investigation in charge was not arresting the accused despite taking bribe from him. The IG ordered the SP Sadar Investigation for arresting the accused immediately and holding an enquiry against the investigation in charge. 

    The IG while taking notice on the applications of three citizens immediately summed the Civil Lines SP, Mujahid squad SP, DSP and SHO of Ghulshan Ravi in the open court and ordered them for addressing the complaints of the citizens within a couple of days.

    Conference of Regional Police Officers and District Police Officers held at CPO

    Inspector General of Police Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar has said that strict legal & disciplinary action would be taken against the police officers/officials found involved in the corruption and incidents of physical torture, escape and death of accused in police custody.

    He was addressing the conference of Regional Police Officers and District Police Officers of the province at CPO here today.

    The participants of the conference gave an elaborative briefing about the measures taken by them in their respective regions in connection with maintenance of law & order, registration, detection & recovery with special reference to the heinous crime including dacoity, robbery, kidnapping for ransom and terrorism; besides apprehension of proclaimed offenders during the special operation, night police patrolling and general hold up, performance of Mohalla Committees and Open Kutcheries. The meeting was informed that recent drive against the outlaws in the province was yielding positive results gradually which have provided the sense of protection to the general masses.

    The IG stressed upon the field police officers for enhancing professional work and image of police in the society so that best working relationship be established between the police and public which is very essential for improving the performance of police. He also directed that close liaison should be kept with the all sections of civil society, especially office barriers of Bar Associations, so that the mutual relations of police and lawyer be improved and for this purpose the liaison officers be appointed at each district and region level.

    The IG further directed that high ranking police officers should be easily accessible to the public and necessary action should be taken on the application of the citizens under law. He said that in case of negligence of staff of police stations as well as SDPO and DPO concerned would be held equally responsible in this regard. He also directed that special measures should be taken for the detection of heinous crime, confiscation of property of Pos and timely submission of challans in the courts. Senior officers should personally carry out the monitoring and the police officers/officials indulging in negligence in this connection be taken to task, the IG added. He said that rewards should be given to the police personnel for their best performance in apprehending hardened criminals and conducting best investigations.

    The IG further directed the District Police Officers to ensure comprehensive security arrangement on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha and during the holy days of Moharram-ul-Harram. He maintained that the services of male and female security volunteers should be obtained from the organizers of Majalis and morning processions for participating in the security measures with the police.

    He further said that the necessary measures for curbing crime especially street crime should be taken on war-footings and for this purpose effective system of police patrolling be evolved. He said that the recovery of stolen properties of docaity and robbery cases and its delivery to the real owners was an important responsibility of police. He also directed RPOs and DPOs to carry out surprise inspections of police stations in their respective areas, in order to check the record of police stations. The IG urged the field police officers to take sever legal action against the elements involved in provocative speeches, publication /distribution of hate material. The IG also appreciated the efforts of RPO and DPO of Bahawalpure for tracing accused involved in the incidents of firing on mosques in Bahwalpure and Khanewal.

    Two officers of Iranian embassy called on IGP

    Two Officers of Iranian embassy Mr Ali Nikan  and Mr. Hossein Samadi Nejad called on Inspector General of Police Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar at his office here today. The honourable guests remained with the IG for sometime and exchanged various matters of mutual interest with him.

    The IG apprised the honourable guests of the measures being taken for enhancing the professional skill of police officers/officials for combating against terrorism and maintenance of law & order in the province. The IG said that special attention was being focused on for the protection of foreign diplomats
