IGP's Khuli Kacheri (Open Court)

    What is 'Khuli Kacheri'?
    The Open Court, popularly known as the Khuli Kacheri, allows members of the public community to register their complaints directly to the highest official of the department and ensures swift and immediate action.

    How often is it held?
    The Open Court of Inspector General of Police, Punjab is held at Police Headquarters (PHQ), Punjab from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. (except Friday and Gazetted holidays) and occasionally in other districts.

    What is the process?
    People come with their complaints that are entertained accordingly. Their complaints are assigned a tracking number and then forwarded to concerned district / branch / office by post as well as electronically using web based application of IGP Complaint Cell.
    Response time depends upon nature of complaint and the district involved. Redress of grievances is ensured by the officer designated for this job.
    Regional Police Officers and District Police Officers have created complaint cells in their respective offices.
