1,100 mosques, imambargahs declared sensitive this Eid

Lahore: In light of the reports from intelligence agencies, the police have declared as many as 1,100 mosques and imambargahs vulnerable to terrorists attack on this Eid.
 
According to the police high-ups, a high-level meeting was held in the city to review the security plan of mosques on this Eid. The meeting decided to re-formulate the security plan in the backdrop of terrorists threat.
 
The mosques and imambargahs declared sensitive include the Badshahi Mosque, Data Darbaar, Masjid-e-Shuhada, Karbala Gamay Shah, Bilal Masjid, Muslim Masjid, Noori Masjid at Railway Station, Onchi Masjid at Bhati Gate, Lal Masjid in Bazaar-e-Hakeema, Madina Masjid at The Mall and the Defence Mosque.
 
Moreover, the open spaces where Eid prayers are organized have also been declared sensitive which include the ones at Model Town Park, Qaddafi Stadium, Gulshan Iqbal Park and Kareem Block Market. These places have been listed under Category A and B given the quantum of threat.
 
Furthermore, it has also been decided to ensure the installation of security walk-through gates at the places mentioned above. The high-ups have also decided to abolish all parking stands adjacent to places declared sensitive.
