CIA claims to have nicked two gangsters

LAHORE – The Kotwali CIA on Monday claimed to have arrested two members of an inter-district gang of robbers who martyred two policemen in the Lower Mall area at a police picket and fled with their weapons two years ago.

The arrested also injured police officials in the Shahdarah Town area during, snatched official weapons from police officials in Misri Shah and Badami Bagh areas, CIA SP Muhammad Umer Virk said while addressing a press conference.  He said that unidentified attackers opened indiscriminate fire at a police picket near Veterinary Hospital in 2011 and martyred two policemen and escaped with official rifles. He said that the CIA constituted various teams to arrest the attackers.  The CIA Kotwali team got a tip-off that Shahid, alias Kala, involved in these crimes is a junkie and often seen in north Lahore to get heroin. The police started surveillance of these areas and arrested Shahid from Misri Shah. During interrogation, Shahid revealed that he was a resident of Bhimber of Azad Kashmir and is involved in injuring police officials and snatching official weapons with his accomplice Nadeem, alias Mocha, in Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujrat and Mandi Bahauddin besides robbing citizens at gunpoint in more than 30 strikes. Nadeem was also arrested from Pir Makki Darbar and illegal weapons were recovered from him.

He revealed during investigation that he injured and snatched weapons from police officials in Shahdarah Town, Misri Shah and Badami Bagh besides committing robberies and street crimes in various parts of Lahore. It is worth mentioning that the accused are heroin addict. The CIA discharge its responsibilities of arresting the accused involved in such crimes.  CCPO Muhammad Aslam Tareen has tasked the CIA with arresting the accused involved in these incidents of crime.
