Five Swindlers Arrested

BAHAWALPUR: The Cantonment police claimed on Wednesday to have arrested five swindlers for allegedly depriving several people of millions of rupees by offering them new vehicles against down payment of some amount.
 
Station House Officer Mohsin Sardar said that last week a case had been registered against 11 accused, including ringleader Iqbal Afridi, Furqan, Shoaib, Waleed Abbasi and Asher, under sections 420, 406, 471 and 468 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
 
Those arrested included Waleed, Shoaib and Abdul.
 
The SHO said the suspects had allegedly opened a fake company Eagle Autos Corporation in Model Town and extorted money from several people to provide them cars, vans and buses on installments.
 
They later disappeared after locking their office.
 
Police had received over 45 complaints against the suspects.
