Traders pay tribute to police

LAHORE - CCPO Muhammad Amin Wains has said naming the function after martyred SI Abdul Majeed and commending cops for security of Pak-Zimbabwe cricket series by traders proved that people have trust on police.
 
“Majeed’s sacrifice proved that cops are committed to the safety of citizens,” he said while addressing a function arranged by Chairman of Anjman-e-Tajran Hall Road Lahore Baber Mehmood at a local hotel Tuesday. The CCPO said all institutions played their due role during this series, particularly, the role of media was highly commendable.
 
Baber Mehmood in his welcome address appreciated the performance of district administration, Sports Board and Lahore police and said that the international cricket has been revived in Pakistan after six years. Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yasin, DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf, SP CIA Muhammad Umer Virk, MPA Majid Zahoor, DG Sports Usman Anwar, DCO Lahore Capt. (R) Usman, senior journalists and anchor Arif Hameed Bhatti, Imran Yaqoob Khan, Arsalan Rafiq Bhatti and representatives of traders’ Anjuman Ashraf Bhatti also addressed the function.
