DG Khan police seize 40 kilogrammes hashish

Dera Ghazi Khan police on Thursday seized narcotics worth Rs10 million in the market, police said. The drugs were being smuggled from Balochistan.
 
Addressing a press conference, DPO Ghulam Mubashir said 40 kilos of hashish had been seized and two people were arrested. He said Dera Ghazi Khan police had launched a search operation in the district last week to nab proclaimed offenders and wanted men.
 
He said police had been informed that a truck bringing narcotics from Balochistan to the Punjab would pass through Dera Ghazi Khan. He said the Saddar SHO and CIA police had set up a picket at Mustafa Chowk in Saddar area. He said they had stopped a truck coming from Loralai and had seized hashish hidden in a large box.
 
He said police had arrested the truck driver Gul Data Tareen, a resident of Sanjawi, and his companion Saadullah Mochi, a resident of Shadan Lund.
 
The DPO said the help of intelligence agencies and Pakistan Army had been sought to intensify efforts against crime in the district. He said dozens of proclaimed offenders had been arrested and detained.
