19 more suspects arrested for Pindi violence

RAWALPINDI, Dec 9: The police have arrested 19 suspects in the past two days who were allegedly involved in the sectarian violence of November 15, and are searching for others identified during investigations, police sources said.

They said the total number of suspects arrested by the joint investigation team was now 54 as the police previously claimed to have arrested 35 people including five policemen.

Of these five policemen allegedly involved in the sectarian clash, three were from Rawalpindi district police while the others from Islamabad police.

A police team headed by Additional Inspector General of Police (Addl: IG) Aftab Cheema has been investigating the Raja Bazaar violence.
