Faisalabad: Police on Thursday announced they had solved a blind murder case and arrested the murder suspect from Sialkot. Talking to journalists, Faisalabad City Police Officer (CPO) Dr. Haider Ashraf said Naeem, a resident of Chak 4-RB Khanqah Dogran, used to drive a motorcycle rickshaw in Faisalabad.

“Naeem disappeared on April 15 and later his body was found from Balochni area.
However, his rickshaw could not be found,” the CPO said. Ashraf said a police team, led by Jaranwala Superintendent Police (SP) Arif Shehbaz Wazir Khan, was formed to investigate the murder.

“The team traced the whereabouts of the accused when he switched on Rehman’s mobile phone,” the official said.

He said police arrested suspect Ramzaan, a resident of CHak 15 in Sheikhupura district, from Sialkot. Police seized Naeem’s rickshaw, mobile phone and a pistol from the suspect. “We brought Ramzaan to Faisalabad. He has confessed to killing Naeem,” the CPO said. Ramzaan has told police that he hired Naeem’s rickshaw and then took him to a secluded place, where he murdered him. Ramzaan then drove the rickshaw to Sialkot.
