Lahore - CIA Sadar Police on Sunday claimed to arrest 11 member dacoit gang involved in house robberies and have recovered illegal weapons and valuables worth Rs5 million from their possession.
A police team of CIA Sadar arrested the 11 Member “Nazra” Dacoit Gang along with their ring leader Nazar Hussain Alias Nazra and other members Asim Alias Asif, Faisal Alias Mano, Fakhar Hayat Alias Farkhri, Javeed Alias Jadi, Ghulam Fareed, Ibrar Hussain, Tahir, Fazal Ur Rehman, Irfan and Abdul Qayuum. The Police have recovered cash, gold ornaments and other valuables including illegal weapons worth Rs5 Million.
During interrogation the ring leader of the gang revealed that they robbed dozens of houses and citizens including Senior Advocate Khusnud Akhtar Raja, Zaheer Ahmed Alvi a close relative of Ex-President High Court bar and a retired atomic energy officer Dr Ibad Ahmed and Deputy secretary Muhammad Iqbal.
Forty-nine cases of dacoity and robbery were also traced against the gang in police stations Nawa Kot, SattoKatla, Hanjarwal, Nawab town, Ghulsan Ravi, Iqbal Town, Sabzazar, Ghulshan Iqbal, RaceCourse, Garden Town, Wahdat Colony and Mustafabad.
DIG Investigation Zulfiqar Hameed has announced cash awards and commendatory certificate for the raiding police team.
