Punjab Highway Patrol arrested two proclaimed offenders (POs) and a kidnapper during routine patrolling on Tuesday.
PHP arrested two Pos, M Sajjad and M Ijaz of Dunyapur, wanted in a case of murder by Dunyapur Sadr police.
Meanwhile, PHP arrested a person, Afzal Hussain Shah of Ichhra, Lahore, from Sheikhupura, who was allegedly involved in a case of kidnapping of a girl, Zainab of Layya.
During patrolling at Chak 148/P, Rahimyar Khan, a PHP team tried to stop two suspected motorcyclists but they ran away. When the PHP team started chasing them, they opened fire on the team. In retaliation, the PHP team fired, they fled after leaving behind a motorcycle (0237/SLA) and two cattle worth Rs 15, 000.
PHP recovered stolen wood worth Rs 30,000 from one Majid and Ghulam Ahmad of Minchan Abad. A Kalashnikov, four magazines and 273 bullets were seized from one Anwar Ali of Gujranwala and a pistol from one Aurangzeb. A stolen bicycle was recovered from accused Imran of Mailsi. PHP also arrested two drunkards, Mirza Kamran and Khizar Hayat.
