On the orders of Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP), Aftab Sultan, all the police headquarters including the Central Police Office (CPO) would remain open on Saturday across the province, a police spokesperson said.
In an official handout, the spokesperson also clarified that the police department would not observe Saturday as holiday.
All the police officers and officials are directed to continue official working on Saturday as usual.
A few days ago, the provincial government announced two weekly holidays on Saturday and Sunday. The decision of two weekly-off was made to help conserve energy as the country is confronting worst types of power cuts with rising temperature.
