Lahore: Punjab Highway Patrol have arrested 22 culprits, including a proclaimed offender, besides recovering an abductee.
PHP sources said on Sunday the officials of Kalashah Kako apprehended a proclaim offender, Amanullah of Gujranwala, who was wanted to PS Shahdara Town Lahore.
PHP officials of Maddo Kahlwan received information about kidnapping of a man in a van and officials intercepted the vehicle besides recovering the abductee Kashif.
Police apprehended seven accused-Nadeem, Saim Ali, Ghulam Abbas, Asalat, Qaisar,Tauseef Ashraf and Aleem.
PHP officials have arrested 13 culprits having illegal weapons and recovered three pistols, one klashnikove, a rifle, hashish and 120 liter liquor from them.
PHP officials have also arrested five dacoits- Dilawar Hussain, Imran,Abid, Ashiq Hussain and Nawaz- and recovered stolen batteries worth Rs 800,000, 120 litter liquor, a bike and illicit arms from a van.
The officials also recovered four missing children,including Manisha,Muhammad Arshad of Chishtiyan, Shahroz and Adnan, to their families.
The officials provided help to 1,797 travellers on highways, the sources added.
