CCPO Lahore Amin Vains has said that complete implementation of code of conduct will be ensured during elections in five union councils of the city.
He said this while addressing a meeting of candidates of the election and police officers at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh here on Wednesday. Election Commissioner Lahore Zubair Kamal, DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf and other officials besides candidates of the election attended the meeting.
He said that display of weapons, aerial firing and fireworks during election would not be tolerated. Strict action would be taken against those who found in violation of code of conduct, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, the election commissioner said that election material would be sent to all polling stations before the time while candidates should fully cooperate with the election staff and police. The DIG Operations said that snipers would be detailed in the building and a heavy police contingent would be deputed in every polling stations.
