Two gangs of robbers busted; loot recovered

LAHORE: Police claimed to have busted two gangs of robbers on Sunday and seized arms, ammunition and recovered looted items from their possession in separate areas of the city.
 
According to a news release, on the directions of Capital City Police Officer retired Capt Amin Wains, a police team led by Chung Station House Officer Javed Siddique carried out raids on intelligence reports and arrested two proclaimed offenders -- ring leader Adnan alias Dani and Ali -- involved in more than 31 cases of robbery and snatchings in different areas of the city.
 
Police also seized arms, ammunition, jewellery and Rs300,000 cash from their possession.
 
In another operation against robbers, police arrested Sheri dacoit gang with its ringleader Shabbir alias Sheri and his accomplice Babar Ali and recovered two motorcycles, mobile phones and arms from their possession. The three-member gang also confessed to 24 robbery cases registered against them in different areas of the city
 
The proclaimed offenders were wanted by different police stations, including Chuhng, Satukatla, Nawab Town, Sabzazar, Manga Mandi, Mustafa Town, Hanjarwal, Green Town, Township, Raiwind City and Sunder.
