Police to revise Black Book

LAHORE – The police have been directed to revise the “Black Book” and to update the lists of the Top-10 and Top-20 criminals involved in the heinous crimes in all the districts of the province to ensure proper monitoring of crimes and criminals. 
 
Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Khan Baig stated this while addressing the meeting of Crimes Monitoring Team at the Central Police Office (CPO) today. 
 
DIG (Operations) Punjab Sohail Ahmed Khan, AIG (Operations) Sahibzada Shahzad Sultan, SSP Investigation Punjab Zahid Sherazi and DPR Punjab Police Nabeela Ghazanfar and PSO to IGP Muhammad Ali Nakokar were present in the meeting. 
 
On this occasion, the IGP further directed that in case of any major crime happening in any district or division, the concerned RPOs and DPOs, would not only brief the provincial police chief in detail about the incident but they would also be bound to inform the IGP about the police action taken in this regard. 
 
The meeting decided that all the DPO would ensure proper inspection of the banks located in their respective district and they would also remain in touch with the management of the banks to implement the security strategy evolved by the police department. He said that in case of any bank robbery, explanation would be sought directly from the concerned DPO. 
 
Taking notice on the media reports regarding the deaths in police custody, the IGP directed the police to brief him about such incidents in detail.
