Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Javed Iqbal has held DSP Zulfiqar Hussain Shah, the then SDPO Kahuta, District Rawalpindi on guilty of charges of inefficiency and misuse of official powers for some ulterior motives.

Replies submitted by DSP Zulfiqar Hussain Shah to Show Cause Notices for aforesaid charges were not considered satisfactory by Enquiry Officer, DIG Mubashar Ullah, Principal, PTS Chung, Lahore, endorsed by RPO Rawalpindi and they held him guilty of charges leveled against him.

After giving final opportunity to DSP Zulfiqar Hussain Shah, to defend charges leveled against him in Orderly Room held here today but he had nothing plausible to state except lame excuses. Service record of the DSP was also found not good having several punishments. The IGP, Punjab has ordered major punishment of reduction in rank from DSP to Inspector for five years.
