Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) has arrested dacoits and recovered Rs 5 million in cash from them.
PHP Post of Bagga Shair, Muzzafar Garh, received information that four persons had robbed Ali Raza, the manager of Bank of Punjab, Sanawan, when he was on his way with Rs 5 million to the bank with a guard from Kot Addu. The robbers snatched the weapon from the guard and then took away the cash.
PHP set up a roadblock while the local police also reached the spot. All the culprits were arrested while going in a vehicle with the cash and pistol 30 bore.
Meanwhile, PHP seized a Kalashnikov with 30 bullets from one Haq Nawaz of Hafiz Abad, a pistol with five bullets from Azhar Ali and Ghulam Raza of Muridke and 30-littre liquor from Tajammal Hussain of Sahiwal. The PHP also reunited two lost children, Zain, 7 and Rashid Ali, 10, with their families.
