It was decided in a high level meeting presided over by by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Javed Iqbal held in PHQ.
The IGP was told that 166 Walk Through Gates will be installed at sensitive places whereas 8797 metal detectors and 866 CCTV Cameras have already been provided to all regions of the Punjab.
The IGP also briefed about the region wise police deployments on the occasion of Moharram. According to details in Lahore region 14372, Sheikhupura region 8121, Gujranwala regaion 16879, Rawalpindi region 18396, Sargodha regaion 6795, Faisalabad region 21813, Multan region 10940, Sahiwal regaion 4538, D.G Khan region 10012 and Bahawalpur region 13829 police officials will be deployed for maintaining law & order and security during the month.
