Police to be on high alert during Eid days: CCPO

LAHORE–Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir has said that no less than 13,000 police officials will remain on high alert here in the provincial metropolis to ensure peace on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.

According to an official handout issued on Friday, the CCPO also appealed to the religious leaders and citizens to completely cooperate with the police to make its security plan a success.

He also said that the police would leave no stone unturned in protecting the life and property of the public and an effective strategy had been evolved to maintain law and order and foil nefarious designs of anti-social elements. CCPO said that around 200 mobile squads would patrol the city areas round-the-clock.

He said that an additional force in uniform and civvies would be deployed in the provincial metropolis to avert possible terror attempt. Ahmad Raza Tahir said that police had been directed to deal with lawbreakers and miscreants with an iron hand. The officers and officials of Investigation Wing would also patrol on the City road to maintain peace, he added.

Ahmad Raza Tahir said that a special control room had also been established at his office to monitor the overall situation and to keep in touch with other departments.
