Police arrest 45 lawbreakers

RAWALPINDI: The police, under its ongoing drive against the anti-social elements have arrested 45 lawbreakers, besides recovering 5,440 grammes of charas, ten litres of wine, 10 pistols of 30-bore with 40 rounds, one Kalashnikov and seven rounds, one pistol of 32-bore with four rounds, a stolen motorcycle, and a dagger from the possession of the arrested accused during the last two days.According to a Rawalpindi police spokesperson, the Pir Wadhai police netted a man for having 525 grammes of charas while another accused was nabbed on the recovery of 515 grammes of charas.

The Bunni police held another accused for possessing 520 grammes of charas. The Sadiqabad police arrested a man and recovered 1,120 grammes of charas. The airport police also recovered 620 grammes of charas from an accused. The Rawat police apprehended another accused for carrying a Kalashnikov and seven rounds.

The Bunni police arrested three more accused and recovered a stolen motorcycle from their possession. Others accused were sent behind the bars as the police recovered illegal pistols, drugs, liquor, and other items from their possession.On the other hand, the Rawalpindi police have arrested 14 gamblers, besides recovering cash stake money worth Rs 19,780, 10 mobile phones, and other items from their possession.

According to reports, the Pirwadhai police, acting on a tip-off conducted a raid in the Muslimabad area and arrested 14 gamblers, as they were allegedly involved in betting under parchi gambling. The police recovered cash worth Rs 19,780 stake money, 10 mobile phones, and other items from their custody.
