Policemen exhibit cricketing skills

Lahore, Oct 27: The Mughalpura police circle beat the Qila Gujjar Singh police circle by six wickets to win the final of Civil Lines division cricket tournament held at bagh-i-Jinnah Ground on Thursday.

Chasing a target of 94 in the alloted 15 over, the Mughalpura circle reached it for the loss of four wickets in 13 over. According to a press release, the cricket matches were organized among teams of 10 police stations of the division to maintain physical fitness and encourage the police jawans.

Besides cricket, competition in other games are also in progress.

Civil Lines division SP Operation Muhammad Omer Saeed distributed cash prizes, certificates and trophies among the members of winning and runner-up teams.

Captain of winning team TSI Farooq Azam, who was adjudged man of the final as he scored 36 runs, was honoured with two trophies and Rs 2,000 cash prize. The captain of the runner-up team was also awarded trophy.
