Lahore: On the directions DIG (operations) Dr Haider Ashraf, Lahore police have arrested 648 accused in 601 cases on charges of wall-chalking, misuse of loud speaker, and publication of hate literature.
Since the Lahore police launched operation cleanup under the National Action Plan, the policemen also seized 133 loud speakers and amplifiers besides a good number of books, pamphlets, and CDs containing hate literature from the miscreants.
DIG Haider Ashraf said that strict action would be taken in case of any violation of National action plan. He also directed the police to take action against elements involved in selling or printing prohibited material and CDs. The DIG has also directed all the police officers to take guarantee from the administration of mosques and Imambargahs that they would not allow provocative speeches.
