Regular monitoring and vigilance a 10-member special board has been constituted by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Javed Iqbal.

In order to stop the fake police encounters in future, their regular monitoring and vigilance a 10-member special board has been constituted by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Javed Iqbal.

The board and Inspection & Vigilance cell established in 10 regions of the Punjab will be headed by DIG/PTS Maj ® Mubashar Ullah.

According to details, following members of Inspection and vigilance cell of each region will be responsible to monitor the fake police encounters. In case of the transfer of any member the successor would be the part of the board. Mr. Usama Mumtaz Raja SSP/Investigation, Branch Punjab, Capital City Lahore region, Mr. Muhammad Kashif SP/Principal PTS Farooqabad, Sheikhupura region, Mr. Munir Masood Marth, SP/PHP Gujranwal, Gujranwala region, Dr. Muhammad Azam CTO/Rawalpindi, Rawalpindi region, Mr. Kamran Yousaf Malik SSP/PHP Faisalabad, Faisalabad region, Mr. Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin SSP/PTS Sargodha, Sargodha region, Mr. Muhammad Younas Butt SP/RIB Sahiwal, Sahiwal region, Mr. Maqsood Ahmad Khichi, SSP/Prinicipal PTS, Multan, Multan region, Mr. Gohar Mushtaq Bhutta SP/Inv. Muzaffargargh, D.G Khan region, Mr. Shaukat Murtaza Malhi, SP/PHP Bahawalpur, Bahawalpur region.

According to official notification issued by Addl. IG Investigation Punjab Muhammad Azam Joiya any aggrieved family or legal heirs of the person killed in allegedly fake encounter could approach and submitted written application to the regional I&V Cell / members of the special board, who will forward the same to head of the board. Subsequently, the later will nominate a panel of enquiry officers. This panel will furnish its reports/findings to head of the board, Maj ® Mubashar Ullah who will in turn forward the same with his comments to the IGP through DIG/Inspection & Vigilance, Police Head Quarters Punjab. In the light of this enquiry report IG Punjab will issue disciplinary and legal orders against those police officers/officials who will found guilty into the matter. The Head of the Board will also regularly keep Muhammad Azam Joiya Addl. IG Investigation Punjab, updated regarding complaints and final reports.
