Khan Baig notified as IGP

The notification confirming the appointment of Acting IGP Punjab Khan Baig as Inspector General of Police of the province was issued on Friday.
 
He has been serving on the post as acting IGP Punjab since May 25, 2013. Earlier, the Punjab government had appointed Khan Baig as IGP Punjab from January 02, 2013 to March 29, 2013. Born in 1954, Khan Baig, who belongs to Attock district, is an officer of the 8th Common. He did M.Sc in Economics and joined the Police Service of Pakistan as ASP in 1980. He was promoted to the rank of SP in 1987.
 
In 2011, he was promoted to the rank of Additional Inspector General of Police in Grade-21. During his service, Khan Baig served on important positions in Karachi and Quetta, apart from various districts of Punjab.
 
He also served as RPO Sargodha, DIG Headquarters, and Additional IG Special Branch.
 
Khan Baig is regarded as a dead-honest, professional, and hardworking police officer in the police service of Pakistan.
