Crime Prevention Plan

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Muhammad Aslam Tareen said a Crime Prevention Plan has been chalked out for purging the City of crime and effectively reining in criminals. “The Operations and Investigations wings and other sections of Lahore police should follow the plan in its letter and spirit so as to induce sense of security among the public,” he directed.
 
According to an official handout, the CCPO stated this while addressing a high-level meeting of police officers on Tuesday. Tareen said under the plan, every police station would be provided with a laptop having an EVO Internet connection through which record of telephone calls would be acquired and photographs of suspects would be shown to applicants. “The SHO, in-charge investigations and other police station officers would use the laptop for scientifically fighting the crime.”
 
Tareen further said each police station would be divided into six beats, and armed jawans of Muhafiz and Mujahid squads would carry out patrolling in their respective beats in two shifts. The CCPO directed that Operations and Investigations wings and other sections of the police should work in complete harmony and coordination for crime fighting, and the divisional SPs and SDPOs should supervise operations under the plan in their respective areas.
 
“They would be responsible for periodically holding meetings with the concerned staff to get feedback and device strategy for crime fighting accordingly in their respective areas.” He called on them to device a coordinated and effective intelligence network besides keeping complete and updated information about the people living in their areas so as to check crimes and rein in criminals. 
 
DIG (Operations) Rai Tahir, DIG (Investigations) Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq, all divisional SPs, SP CIA, SP CRO, all SDPOs, SHOs and in-charge investigations were also present on this occasion.
