FAISALABAD: Police have taken into custody 223 suspects during a search operation in the district.
According to a police spokesman, the search was conducted in the wake of the Tuesday’s incident in People’s Colony here in which constable Haseeb was killed and three other cops – Zeeshan, Mustafa and Shoaib – were seriously wounded when four terrorists had opened fire on a mobile team. He said when police exchanged fire, an unidentified terrorist was killed and three others managed their escape.
After the incident, Faisalabad police conducted a search operation in four districts of the region and took 223 suspects into custody who were being interrogated by police teams.
The spokesman said raids were being conducted to apprehend the fleeing terrorists. - APP
