Eleven criminals arrested in past 2 weeks

Lahore: The Lahore Police claim to have arrested eleven criminals, involved in dacoity, motorcycle snatching, drug trafficking and other crimes, in a campaign against criminals during last two weeks. Police sources said on Sunday that Factory Area Police have smashed a dacoit gang and arrested its two members besides recovering five stolen bikes, four mobile phones and illegal weapons.

A special police team led by deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Defence Circle arrested Abdul Karim Lahori and his accomplice. Defence B Police have smashed a motorcycle-lifter gang and arrested its two members while recovering five motorcycles, six mobile phones, three pistols and rounds from their possession.

A special police team led by DSP Defence Circle arrested Tahir Latif and Riasat of “Choor” gang. Burki police have arrested two gangsters and recovered a rickshaw, four animals, two pistols and some rounds from their possession.

The SP Cantonment constituted a special team which conducted a raid at Mandianwaia road and arrested Imran and Qurban and recovered looted property from them.

The Shadman Investigation police have smashed a motorcycle snatcher gang and arrested its two members while recovering three stolen motorcycles, mobile phones besides illegal weapons.

A special police team led by DSP Ichhra circle raided and arrested Shan, ring leader of a gang and his accomplice Mujahid.

During preliminary interrogation, the accused have confessed 24 incidents of motorcycle snatching in various areas of the city.

Mustafa Abad police claimed to have seized a vehicle carrying narcotics and weapons and arrested a couple at Infantry road area of the city. The police arrested accused Azizur Rehman and his wife Shazia and recovered 4,080 grams heroin, 6 Kg charas two rifles, three pistols and 30 cartridges from their possession. The accused brought the narcotics and weapons from Peshawar.

The Ghalib Market police claimed to have arrested a notorious drug peddler during crackdown against narcotics sellers and seized Rs. 102,000 in cash and five Kg high quality of charas worth million of rupees from his possession.

DSP Gulberg Nasir Mehmood Bajwa along with officials of Ghalib Market Police Station raided at Gurumangat road, Gulberg area of the city, and arrested the accused Fahad Butt and recovered the narcotics.
