115 criminals held

MULTAN, Nov 3: Khanewal District Police Officer Muhammad Ayaz Saleem claimed on Sunday to have arrested 115 criminals from the riverine belt of the district during a three-day operation.
 
Addressing a press conference, the DPO said the operation conducted by the district police had been launched on the directions of Regional Police Officer Muhammad Amin Wains.
 
He said besides 350 police and Elite Force personnel, all deputy superintendents of police and station house officers participated in the operation.
 
He said police arrested 115 criminals out of which 67 were absconders, 16 record holders, 15 possessing illegal weapons, 12 drug traffickers during the operation. Police also recovered six stolen motorbikes and three tractors.
 
The DPO said police were also monitoring areas from where alleged criminals had escaped. — Staff Correspondent
