CTD arrests seven militants

LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed on Saturday to have arrested seven alleged militants linked with various banned outfits. The arrests were made during a series of operations across the province. The CTD conducted 164 intelligence-based operations in different districts to preempt any potential acts of terrorism. During these operations, 165 individuals were interrogated, leading to the arrest of seven alleged militants. The arrested individuals were found in possession of weapons, explosives, and other prohibited materials. The arrested suspects, identified as Rahim Shah, Husnain Moaviya, Murtaza Hasan, Muhammad Usman, Rahmatullah, Usman Saeed, and Kashif Nadeem, are believed to have links with banned organisations such as Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, Al-Qaeda and Lashkar-i-Jhangvi. The operations were carried out in Mandi Bahauddin, Bahawalpur, Lahore, Gujranwala, Jhang, Mianwali, Layyah and Sahiwal.
