FAISALABAD: Police arrested a man on Wednesday for beating up a health worker administering polio drops to children. A police spokesman said that a Health Department team was going door-to-door to administer polio drops in Gulberg.

“When they asked Azeem Ghumman to let them administer the oral vaccine to his children, he refused. When the health workers insisted, Ghumman started beating up one of them. The rest of the team members fled,” police said. Police said that the polio campaign had to be suspended in the area after the attack. A team of Gulberg police station reached the scene and arrested Ghumman.
