Regional Police Officer Muhammad Amin Vaines has said the union council policing system will be implemented in the district within a fortnight while the latest security system will be developed to check the crime.
Talking to Dawn on Wednesday the RPO said at least 1,198 police officials would be deployed in 170 union councils in the district while seven constables at each union council.
He said 340 motorcycles and as many wireless sets were being arranged for these police officials, adding that Rs1 million had been provided for the repair of old motorcycles.
The RPO said two SMG rifles and pistols would be provided to these police officials who would perform bank duty in shifts.
He said the crime control committee consisting of 15 members would be formed in each union council.
He said the inspector general of police would inaugurate the policing system shortly.
