LAHORE: A MOBILE learner permit van of the city traffic police issued 221 driving permits to Government College University students on Thursday.
The traffic police as per directions of Chief Traffic Officer Dr Usman Anwar launched a programme to issue learner permits and fresh driving licences at the doorstep of the citizen especially at the educational institutions and at work places to save time of public.
The traffic education unit also accompanied the mobile learner permit van, which conducted a special lecture for the students whereon they were told about traffic laws, road signs and other measures of a safe driving. Hey were informed about hazards of one wheeling, over speeding and mobile phone use during driving.
Three more mobile vans would be acquired soon to facilitate citizen.Meanwhile, the CTO in a statement issued here on Thursday said neither challan target nor the quota of lifting wrongly parked vehicles was given to the traffic wardens in the City.
