Three terrorists held from Multan

MULTAN: The police claimed to have arrested three terrorists allegedly involved in killing two policemen during an attack on the residence of a Shariat Court judge in March.

Addressing a press conference on Friday, City Police Officer Amir Zulfiqar said that unknown accused had attacked the residence of Justice Jahangir Arshad on Monday 28. The policemen deputed there resisted their bid. As a result, constable Abdul Malik and Naveed were killed. The terrorists managed to escape.

A team headed by SSP Operations Muhammad Gohar Nafees investigated the incident and arrested Naveed alias Qasim, Muhammad Asif alias Saqib and Nasir Hussain alias Syed Murad. During the Interrogation, terrorists confessed that they were involved in several incidents of terrorism.

The CPO said that Naveed had been working as a deputy to Qari Imran who was leading a group of Punjabi Taliban.

He added that the terrorists were allegedly involved in kidnapping FC officials from Bannu in 2008 and had received Rs 1.8m as ransom for their release.
