Police track down three gangsters

GUJRANWALA: CIA police on Sunday arrested three members of Saram alias Gango gang and recovered Rs1.2 million, five cell phones and three pistols from their custody.
City Police Officer Muhammad Waqas Nazir formed a team under the supervision of CIA SP Muhammad Tahir Maqsood Cheena. The team arrested Malik Saram (ring leader) alias Gango, a resident of DC Road, Hafiz Usman of Peoples Colony and Khwaja Muhammad Ameen of Sui Gas Road.
The suspects during preliminary investigation told police that in December 2014, they looted 2.4m from a person at Rajkot. In another incident, they held staff of a petrol pump at gunpoint at Alam Chowk and snatched Rs1.8m from cashier and a rifle from gunman. They looted Rs2.5m from a motorcyclist on Nosheran Road. In October 2013, the suspects entered a house on DC Road, held the family hostage and made off with a laptop, jewellery and Rs10,000. They took away Rs2.2m from a factory at Mangolia Park.
The suspects confessed to committing criminal activities in Aroop, Baghbanpura, Civil Lines, Saddar Gujranwala, Sabzi Mandi and Peoples Colony areas.
Police are conducting raids for the arrest of their accomplices.
