Security plan for Ramazan bazaars

LAHORE: Inspector General of Punjab Police Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera on Wednesday chalked out a security plan for 312 Sasta Ramazan bazaars being established all over the province.

Giving a briefing at a meeting regarding the deployment for the Sasta Ramazan bazaars, Operations Additional IG retired Captain Arif Nawaz said at least 2,354 policemen, including 1,427 lower subordinates and 431 upper subordinates, would perform the security duties.

As many as 496 lady constables will also be deployed around these bazaars to monitor and frisk female visitors at walk-through gates.

He said that 81 walk-through gates and 503 metal detectors had been provided to districts for the purpose.

The IGP directed the officers to ensure traffic management during the timings of these bazaars as per the already issued SOP.

He also directed all DPOs and SPs to remain in constant touch with the traffic staff for the proper flow of traffic so that shoppers had to face no inconvenience.
