IGP visits front desks of three police stations

May 27, 2016

LAHORE: Punjab Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera paid surprise visit to three police stations in Rawalpindi on Thursday.

Accompanied by RPO Rawalpindi Wissal Fakhar Sultan, the IG visited the front desks established in Civil Lines, Cantt and Waris Khan police stations.

Talking to civilian staff, he said the front desks should provide a respectable and friendly environment to complainants so that unnecessary interference of SHOs and moharrirs could be checked. He directed front desks not to involve the SHOs and moharrirs in any complaint, lodged by people.

The IG said if any senior station assistant (SSA) or police station assistant (PSA) would be found seeking assistance from the SHOs or mohorrirs regarding any complaint, his/her contract would immediately be cancelled.

The IGP directed the RPO Rawalpindi that he himself should monitor the front desks so that the people of Rawalpindi could avail the facility properly.
