Nov 24, 2016

LAHORE -  Punjab inspector general of police Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has asked his department that nobody should be arrested without evidence especially in cases of heinous crime.

The provincial police chief directed the circle officers to conduct surprise visits to the police stations to get information about the working condition of the staff. The IGP also directed them to take special care of welfare of the force as it was not possible to get results from the force without giving priority to their welfare.

He further said that at least 74 officers were promoted in accordance with the merit, based on their performance and seniority. Now this is the responsibility of the newly promoted officers to work with sincerity, he added.

The police chief stated this during an informal meeting with officers, who were recently promoted from the rank of Inspector to Deputy Superintendent of Police. The meeting was held at the central police office yesterday.

On this occasion, the IGP said that the process of promotion of DSPs to the rank of SPs would be completed within weeks.
