Inspector General of the Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has said that missing CNIC numbers of criminals in Criminal Record Management System of Punjab should be obtained from NADRA by providing their photos, names, parentage and addresses. He said that Director General NADRA has already issued instructions to their staff in this regard. An officer of Punjab Police will act as focal person for NADRA so that entry of missing CNIC numbers of criminals should be ensured soon. He further said that concerned DSP must personally contact the complainant regarding complaints received through IGP Police Complaint Center 8787. Show cause notices should be issued and immediate departmental action be taken against the DSPs who, instead of contacting the complainants by themselves, handover this task to their subordinates. He said that providing justice to the citizens without any delay is our foremost priority. Zero tolerance policy should be adopted against the police officers and officials who intentionally delay the provision of justice to the citizens or show slackness in this regard, he added.

IGP stated this while directing and guiding officers regarding different issues during a high-level meeting held at Central Police Office, Lahore today. Additional IGP Operations Punjab, Capt. (R) Arif Nawaz, Add: IGP Welfare and Finance, Shoaib Dastgir, Add: IGP Investigation Punjab, Azhar Hameed Khokhar, DIG I.T Shahid Hanif, DIG Operations Punjab, Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, DIG Welfare, Waseem Siyal, DIG Kamran Khan, DIG Humayun Bashir Tarar, DIG Discipline & Inspection, Shahzada Sultan, DIG SPU, Faisal Rana, AIG Operations, Waqar Abbasi, AIG Monitoring, Roy Babar Saeed and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.

While directing Add: IGP Investigation Punjab, Azhar Hameed Khokhar, IGP said that this should particularly be made compulsory that Crime Scene Unit vans, provided in all districts, should immediately reach crime scene to collect evidences of dacoity, murder and other heinous crimes. Crime Scene Unit van officials should immediately be informed about any emergency, same like 15 unit informs police station about any incident, so that they may timely reach the crime scene to collect evidences including finger prints and samples for forensic lab.

While directing DIG Discipline & Inspection, Shahzada Sultan, IGP said that regular inspection of police lines, police stations and DPO offices should be ensured and reports should be submitted to PSO to IGP. He further said that complainants and front desk staff in different districts should be enquired on daily basis if they face any problems regarding registration of FIRs. If any officer or official is found involved in creating hassle for citizens, immediate action should be taken against them.
