TOBA TEK SINGH: A Counter Terrorism Department team during a raid at the local general bus stand on Thursday arrested a passenger who was said to be a suspected terrorist.

Sources told reporters that Abdul Rashid of Dera Ghazi Khan belonged to a banned religious organisation and he had the plan to attack some installation at Toba or Faisalabad.

The CTD also recovered from his custody four detonators, 430 gram black explosive powder and a 30-bore pistol with eight cartridges. Detonators were later defused by civil defence department’s bomb disposal unit. He was shifted to some undisclosed place for further investigation.

It merits mentioning that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will soon inaugurate a gas power plant at Haveli Bahadur Shah (Jhang). Consequently, CTD and other law-enforcement agencies are searching areas close to Haveli Bahadur Shah.
