813 POs Arrested During Last 15 Days.

LAHORE: Punjab Police Inspector General (IG) Captain (r) Arif Nawaz Khan has directed police high-ups to beef up security of worship places, churches, educational institutions make it ensure that panic buttons installed at all educations institutions is working.

Addressing the RPOs conference at the Central Police Office via a video link on Wednesday, the IG said that monitoring of inter-provincial checkposts be ensured at any cost and all vehicles be checked accordingly.

The top cop expressed anger over the murder of an abducted boy in Sheikhupura and directed Sheikhupura regional police officer to arrest criminals involved in the heinous incident.

During the conference, the inspector general was told that 813 'A' category proclaimed offenders had been arrested during the last 15 days, while raids were in process to arrest the other criminals.

The IG said that RPOs and DPOs should personally monitor the ongoing campaign against proclaimed offenders, terrorists and anti-social elements. He also directed the RPOs and DPOs to make ensure that combing and search operations be supervised by an ASP or a DSP rank officer.

The conference was attended by Punjab DIG Operations Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, Special Branch DIG Zaeem Sheikh, AIG Operations Waqar Abbasi, AIG Logistics Rai Baber Saeed, AIG Monitoring Ahsan Younas and other senior police officers.
