Security finalized for cricket match

LAHORE: The police authorities on Thursday finalized security for the cricket match deputing over 11,000 policemen.

At a meeting, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Amin Wains said the combing and search operations would continue during the cricket match being played at the Gaddafi Stadium. Operations DIG Dr Haider Ashraf and many other senior police officers were also present on the occasion.

The CCPO said arrangements had been finalized to transport the Sri Lankan team from the airport to the hotel on The Mall. Walk- through gates, metal detectors and biometric machines would be used to frisk the cricket lovers at the stadium. He directed SPs of all divisions to arrange mock exercises in their respective areas and supervise the search and combing operations.
