NAROWAL: Police claim to have arrested an inter-district robbers gang that also allegedly confessed to committing crimes in Narowal, Sialkot, Sheikhupura and other.
Masooda Bibi, a resident of Dhamthal village of Zafarwal tehsil, had gone to a local private hospital. Two unidentified women convinced her that they would take her to a better hospital for check-up.
They took Masooda in a car driven by their companion and when they reached Narowal-Muridke road they snatched her jewellery and cash. When Masooda raised a hue and cry, passersby forced the car to stop and inquired about the matter. They then handed over the gang of Sehrish Bibi, Navida Bibi and their driver Muhammad Imran to Nidokay police.
The women confessed to committing dozens of such activities in and around Narowal district. Along with their male accomplice, they claimed they had looted several people who came out of banks with cash.
Imran said they had earlier been caught in Sheikhupura district as well. Dozens of looted people, including the family of Masooda, reached Nidokay police station. Police registered a case against the gang and started an investigation.
