JIT members to share Rs10m reward: CM

LAHORE: The Rs10 million cash prize the Punjab government had announced for identifying the culprit behind Kasur incident will be divided among all members of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) that resolved the case.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said this on Wednesday during his meeting with the JIT members who called on him here.

The chief minister lauded the effort made by all the departments and agencies involved in the investigation, especially the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA). Appreciating the PFSA, he said it was a mega institution in the whole of South Asia and cases from foreign countries were also referred to it, as well.

The CM said the latest scientific methodology was needed to be adopted to maintain peace and curb crimes in society. He said the incident had shocked the nation and tracing the killer had helped mitigate its agony.
