Minor girl recovered a week after kidnap

MUZAFFARGARH: Police on Wednesday recovered a minor girl from Lahore who had allegedly been kidnapped last week.

On Tuesday last (Jan 16), Shah Jamal police registered case on the complaint of ‘R’ who told the police that his eight-year-old daughter went missing from home. Dera Ghazi Khan Regional Police Officer Sohail Habib Tajik constituted a team to probe the matter.

Shah Jamal SHO Asghar Gujjar conducted raids and detained some relatives of the girl. On Tuesday night, police said, the SHO received a call from Lahore’s Shahdra Chowk. The SHO said the girl was allegedly kidnapped by some suspect(s) who took her to Lahore.

He said: “A shopkeeper at Shahdara Chowk spotted her sitting alone, talked to her and contacted us. The girl was handed over to the family.” DPO Awais Ahmad said the suspect(s) would be arrested soon.
