IGP for foolproof polls security

LAHORE  -  Punjab Police Inspector General Syed Kaleem Imam on Saturday ordered the regional and district police officers to reassess security strategy for the next week’s polling.The IGP further said that intelligence based sweep and combing operations should be conducted in Katchi Abadis, bus stations, and in the vicinity of sensitive polling stations. The patrolling duration of Dolphin Squads, Police Response Units and other patrolling forces around sensitive polling stations should also be increased.  The provincial police chief issued these directions while talking to field officers through video-link conference held at central police office on Saturday.  During the conference, the IGP was briefed by police officers about security plan of the polling day. On this occasion, Syed Kaleem Imam said that all available resources should be utilized to ensure peaceful environment for voters.
