IGP Punjab reviewed / analyzed 2018 crime situation in Lahore.

Operational strategy finalized for 2019. All officers of Lahore police will perform one hour duty at pickets of Lahore.

IGP Punjab himself will paid surprise visit at police pickets.

In order to eliminate crime particularly street crime with the view to make Lahore as secured, all officers, and officials should come forward and deliver in field instead of sitting of their offices. Already all officers / officials have been posted as per their choice and priority now they are duty bound to deliver for the protection and security of the citizens.  This is the reason that all officers of Lahore police will be bound to spend one hour at all pickets so that they themselves will monitor the crime situation particularly to stop the car and motor cycle theft enabling the metropolitan citizens more secure and safe.

This was stated by IG Punjab Amjad Javid saleemi while analyzing the crime situation of 2018 of metropolitan Lahore and evolved operational strategy for 2019.

CCPO Lahore Bashir Ahmed Nasir, DIG operations Lahore Waqas Nazeer, DIG investigation Lahore Dr. Inaam Waheed, SSP operations Lahore Mustansar Firoz and SSP investigation Lahore Zeeshan Asghar were present at this occasion.

Amjad Javid Saleemi said that he himself will visit any picket point so that prescribed SOP could be monitored. In addition to it all data of theft vehicles and motor cycles will be provided to concern SPs and other officials on these pickets so that with the help of this app theft vehicles and motor cycles could be identified and all SSPs may regularly perform one hour duty on these pickets.

On this occasion DIG operations Lahore Waqas Nazir told IGP Punjab that around one million motor cycles are on road in Lahore among which one lac motor cycles are unregistered. IG Punjab directed that in order to stop theft of motor cycles and vehicles, safe city and IC3 should make a working mechanism so that the citizens may use their transport without any fear.

The meeting also decided that patrolling of PRU and Dolphin force will be enhanced in those police stations having high crime rate. Bifurcation of operational and security police was also decided to make the police station more active and strengthen to fight against crime and criminals comfortably decided the PPO.

While briefing the IGP DIG operations Waqar Nazeer said that the arrest of proclaimed offenders is underway and up to 300 hardened Pos were identified and their profiling have been completed. He further told that operational wing arrested 2586 members of 998 gangs and traced 2436 cases by recovering 15 carore  69 lac 81 thousand 3 hundred and 50 rupees. Similarly, the investigation wing had arrested 1469 members of 659 gangs by tracing 5832 cases and recovered 52 carore 68 lac 18 thousand and 76 rupees from these POs.  

DIG operations Waqas Nazeer further told that under the instructions of IGP the process of Kalashnikov recovery is also underway and Lahore police have recovered so far 45 Kalashnikov 342 riffles, 225 guns and 4595 pistols along with 62721 bullets from various criminals by registering 5414 cases against them. The PPO further directed the CCPO Lahore to ensure the proper monitoring of Kalashnikov and other weapons.

The meeting also decided that deployment of Dolphin and PRU squads will be enhanced in the areas having high crimes. Moreover, 150 special operational teams have been formulated which will be responsible the identification and coverage of crime hotspots of Lahore. Rescue 15 calls based crime mapping tracking of habitual / hardened criminals will be managed by these teams’ added DIG operations Lahore.

Amjad Javaid Saleemi further said that 8787 complaints cell is being converted into service delivery cell with the view to provide timely justice and relief to the complainant and Lahore police must replicate this pattern and no negligence will be accepted in this regard concluded the IGP.
