In order to provide public relief, two hours duration have been fixed for SHOs of 713 police stations of Punjab, All SHOs will remain in their police stations in summer from 4pm to 6pm and from 3pm to 5pm in winter. Installation of CCTV cameras inside police stations to monitor presence of SHOs has been decided.

Installation of CCTV cameras in 713 police stations has been decided in order to provide timely public relief and save their precious time and money. In order to ensure presence of SHOs in these two hours, directions have been issued. Presence of SHOs will be monitored through these CCTV cameras.

IG Punjab Amjad Javed Saleemi directed all field officers to make these cameras functional from 1st February and also bound SHOs to remain in their offices from 4pm to 6pm in summer and from 3pm to 5pm in winter. These cameras will be connected with already installed cameras of front desks at police stations which is cost effective because their price is 1250 rupees to 1850 rupees.

As per directions of IG Punjab after functioning of these cameras, the presence of SHOs during these two hours will easily be monitored from CPO and all RPOs and DPOs will also be able to monitor their presence in police stations.
