IG Punjab presided an important session regarding women’s day at central police office.

 

It has been directed in the session that a special cell will be established at central police office for quick resolution and addressal of complaints regarding domestic violence.

To minimize domestic violence and ensure protection of women is the prime priority of Punjab Police and directions have been issued in all districts for quick resolution of complaints of domestic violence whereas special cell is being established in Central Police Office, Lahore so that these incidents may be monitored and justice could be ensured to aggrieved women along with taking strict action against the accused.

These views were expressed by inspector General Police Punjab Amjad Javed Saleemi addressing to officers in session held regarding women’s day at central police office Lahore today. Addl IG operations Punjab Inam Ghani, DIG operations Captain retired Atta Muhammad, DIG D&I Ashan Yunus and other senior officers were present in the meeting.

IG Punjab directed to all RPOs and DPOs to personally supervise incidents of women and domestic abuses in their districts and regions and submit a monthly based report regarding these incidents at central police office Lahore. He further said that central cell for domestic violence will resolve the issues of domestic violence on priority basis whereas all field officers will ensure quick resolution of complaints regarding domestic violence and ensure protection of women rights and also take effective steps for protection of women rights. Delay and negligence from officers and officials in this regard will not be tolerated.
